What Gives? Is a three week series focused on the discipleship practice of generosity. Money is a hot topic—in our culture and even in the Bible! But what gives? Jesus knew how we viewed and handled our money reflected more than our financial savvy, it revealed our hearts and desires. True generosity is an act of surrender and worship, a tangible extension of God’s heart to redeem and restore the world around us.
This series aims to teach people about the generous heart of God and to challenge us to take our own next steps in generosity. Throughout this series we will look at Biblical examples of generous people and why they were generous. We will answer questions like, “Is God generous?” “Is generosity just a good thing to do or a part of spiritual growth?” “Why should I give to the local church?” “Can I trust the local church with my money?”
We aim to teach people the what and why of the Biblical discipleship practice of generosity. We want people to understand that it is not simply altruistic to give to the local church, but is a spiritual practice of personal growth and development in line with the heart of the King.
